Titans @Texans AAR

Texans defense gave up 30 points to the 2-8 innbreds from hootenannie despite getting 8 sacks, a pick 6 and 2 fumble recoveries
CJ Stroud threw 2 INT's while missing 40% of his throws and he pulled an Orlovsky to clinch the game for said innbreds
Joe Mixon rushed for 22 yards at a 1.5ypc clip
Our vaunted kicker missed a 28 yd chip shot that would have tied the game with less than 2 minutes remaining enabling innbreds to pin the Texans @ the 15 setting up said safety

FIRE EVERYBODY!!!

One game your defense gets 5 interceptions.

A couple weeks later, your favorite team has an 80 yard kick return, 3 turnovers, including a pick 6, and 8 sacks.

How much did your team win by in these games?
Trying to make us cry?

Perhaps it is the management position that the 2024 season was about hope rather than expectation? After last season, the fans expectation soard but perhaps the office and coaching knew what was behind what we saw. Year 3 in 2025 but who feels confident that anything will be improved?
Drafted players and most FA additions are doing well.

1 2nd half offensive TD in the last 6 games. And the 1 lonely TD came off a drive that started on the opponents 35 yard line. That almost seems inconceivable but here we are.

Average football team right now. And I don’t know how it gets better for this season. Very disappointing.

The Titans clearly studied the Texans' tendencies on both side of the ball. The chunk plays, our burnt DB's, and long TD's by one of the worst QB's in the league are proof. Amy Adams had this date circled, and her coaches dedicated extra hours to film study. What's worse is Slowik does not know how to adjust for the next match up, so the outlook there is bleak.

Just terrible. I have no confidence in this team. C.J. is making awful decisions. The offense plays with no pride or swagger.

The lack of tackling by the defense was appalling. They had 8 sacks and a pick 6, but also gave up way too many deep balls.

Then Fairbairn misses a game tying 28-yard field goal. Total team collapse. I won't believe this team can win another game until I see it

Texans failed to score 7 points again in the 2nd half. You know what’s sad, the Texans defense has score more 2nd half points in the past 2 games than the Texans offense has in the past 5 games.

I hated what I heard from Demeco after the game. Blaming the defense and saying the offense put up enough points. This is how you lose players in your locker room. If Demeco is blaming the defense then the offense will never get better or change.

We are dying a slowik death. You can’t have your 2nd year qb and oc having a sophomore slump at the same time. If a change isn’t made soon than Cj is going to get worse and worse. You are putting your young qb development at risk.

This offense is what it is. Cannot protect there qb to save there life. Gets crucial penalties in the redzone and on touchdowns that get called back. Cj has regressed but I think it’s foolish to put blame on him. A young 23 year old who plays the hardest position with a bottom 3 line and has so much pressure from the outside deserves to make mistakes. Instead of pointing out what he didn’t do, how about you give him some praise for the smart plays like throwing the ball away because his line can’t block for sh**

I honestly think this is the main problem. The Oline is straight up booty cheeks! CJ is pressured in under 2.5 seconds on damn near every drop back. AND, and the Texans average almost 9 yards a play on third down. That stat and the fact that the Oline can't block is a recipe for disaster.

That has to be in CJ's head, no doubt. I've been watching clips of plays all day, even posted one yesterday where guys are open, but CJ is either already pressured, or bailing the pocket. Now, sometimes it looks like he could have had room to chuck it anyway, but damn...when you got that Sweat dude (almost 4 bills) barreling down you...what is a guy to do?

Speaking of the 400 pound dude, WHY in the hell is Slowick running hurry up and slamming it right into that guy?? That had to be the stupidest play call all day. They went hurry up on 3rd and 1and slammed it into the middle of the line. Just felt out unaware of what the hell is going on.

Again, when is the last time CJ has been under center and run a legit play action pass? Slowick is as much to blame as the Oline, IMO.

Don't know about ya'll but this Oline exudes ZERO confidence, ZERO attitude, and ZERO want to. It seems to be just going through the motions.....Sad.

Something needs to change and change quick. CJ gonna Carr up if things stay the same.

CJ didn’t just pull the ball down and run out of bounds!!! As this photo indicates, the defensive pressure was on him faster than any of his receivers were open. Throwing the ball away wasn’t an option since intentional grounding would’ve resulted in the same TB. Piss-poor OL play and play-calling.

CJ is supposed to be a franchise QB. If these are the excuses for him then maybe he isn’t that.

My take away from this image….thank goodness that tub of lard didn’t duck up Patterson’s ankle or leg in the process of being rag-dolled.

As for CJ, he did make a few bad throws along with a couple of bad INT’s. One INT was clearly a miscommunication between him and Metchie. I’m willing to give CJ a break on 60% of this assessment b/c the OL has straight-up been arse all season. I’m ducking sick of watching Tunsil’s bone-headed mistakes take the wind out of offenses sails. Mason and Howard are pure shite in the living form on the football field. Scruggs is having a tough time, but I think he’ll get better as the last 5 games play out. I’m not moving Patterson from Center as long as he’s wearing a Texans uniform. Knowing the team can’t just dump Tunsil’s arse in a trade (b/c of a lack of return) due to the financials, I’d be just fine getting Fisher in at RT the moment he clears concussion protocol. The biggie….ducking put Broeker in at RG so someone can assess his value to the team. Mason’s arse has gotten for fat and old very quickly.

The defense had its moments of grandeur and complete face-plants. If the offense had given the defense more points to protect….good chance they see more of the Pick 6 Levis versus the second coming of TB12. The defense is playing well enough for the team to have more wins than the current 7.

Fairbairn has been disappointing as well over the last 3 games….costing the team ties and wins.

This was an all around loss, but my gaze of disgust still falls squarely on Slowick and the OL.

Or how about pointing out CJ is seeing ghosts and pulled an Orlovsky. He also threw a terrible Int. Those were not on the OC. As far as the OL goes, yep they're bad. But Levis outplayed CJ and he was sacked 8 times. He dealt with more pressure and dealt with it better than CJ did.

Great point. 8 sacks taken by Levis. Difference is his oc helped him by calling plays to get the ball out his hands quickly.

This offense has no swagger, is very boring and lacks creativity. It doesn’t help this offense having a low awareness Juice Scruggs starting on this line.

It’s unfortunate. Slowik has called some decent plays. Our tds have been called back because of penalties but I can’t ignore the predictable and questionable playcalling. Cj is the student driver and Slowik is the blind driving instructor. His evaluation of talent sucks. Scruggs should have never been our starting center for 10 weeks. Kenyon should have never been a starter

Just watched the game after a 3 day backpacking trip in Colorado Bend State Park. Beautiful park! Great “shakedown” for more extensive trips throughout the year.

Onto the Texans…

This is who they are this season. They are capable of elite things.

They can get 8 sacks and a pick six in a game… yet still find a way to allow 32 points and lose.

They can get 5 INTs in a game… yet still find a way to lose.

They have a kicker who can set the record for most 50+ yard FGs made in a season… yet still miss the chipshot 28 yard FGs.

They can score from anywhere on the field with this offense… but they can also get that same play nullified due to a penalty like illegal motion or illegal man downfield that you would expect to be cleaned up by now if you’re watching professional football 12 weeks into the season.

This team is talented, but every team in the NFL is talented. And last Sunday the Titans made one less mistake than the Texans, made one more play, and that’s why they won.

This team has better individual talent than last year’s Texans but the TEAM is not as good as last year’s. The sophomore slump is here and the bye week is long overdue.

The ol coach is in charge of who starts. Actually Ryans is in charge of who starts on both sides of the ball.

The. Titans OC didn't call plays that got the ball out of Levis hands fast enough. He took 8 sacks.

Difference is Levis hung in there and made plays. Meanwhile Stroud handled the pressure by pulling an Olovsky. Surely you can see the difference.

There were several plays in which Levis got the ball out quickly. Especially on those two 90+ yards drives. On some snaps he held the ball too long and paid for it.

It's the mentality on offense that bothers me so much. I want those guys coming out with the same aggression and fire as the defense.

I thought Ryans would bring that SWARM mentality to both sides of the ball.

On offense, the mentality is more of a 'smudge'.

I watched the game again last night and saw where the tits big guys shut down the A/B gaps and we continued to challege them. CJ disappointed me with his errant passes that should have been easy completions. I want to beleive his issues are fixable with him working on compusure. I couldn’t see anything but just failure to control the angles of flight. Hopefully the QB coach can see a solution from watching film. The OC should have a game plan based on weakness and avoid the the strong position of defences. I know all this has been rehased however thought I’d confirm it with my two cents worth.

He pulled an Olovsky. Sure but Juice Scruggs played god awful the last 2 drives. He gave up 2 sacks and 1 pushed them back before the Olovsky play. I rather my franchise qb pull an Olovsky if that means ending the game injury free. How do you let a 315lb tackle get his 1st sack of the season against you in week 12? How does that even happen. Despite his poor performance the past 4 games, considering the circumstances, Stroud has been hanging in there all season. The worse pressured qb, 14 tds 9 ints, probably should be at 18 tds but penalties and drops continues to plague this offense.

If we have no protection and can't stretch the field the way we want, why the **** don't we use RBs as pass catchers? Why not utilize tight ends more?

Get CJ to release the ball early. Allow RBs to make stuff happen. (NOT screens). Get the run game to open up. Allow the deeper receivers to get separation.

Get creative. Shorten plays for CJ with this garbage offensive line.

I know presnap penalties are a huge killer. This type of game plan wouldn't fix that. That's discipline and IQ and that needs the most work.

I've seen it written that to be a "good" team you have to win the games you're supposed to win. Are we even a "good" team?

I was just thinking Mixon should be utilized like Marshall Faulk

Every year a team wins a game they weren't supposed to win. Buffalo

They lose a game they weren't supposed to lose. Inbreds

And the Jets? They were a pretty big favorite against them, another two win team circling the drain. The Vikes was considered a win prior to the season, and I think it was more or less a toss up coming into that game.
