Texan Fans,

first off, I feel for you--Were having a rough season also.

But I came here to get your comments on a rumor I have heard. Granted this is a rumor I heard on another board--But after the last few games it could possibly make sense.

"The Texans FO has ordered Dom Capers to lose any winnable games to ensure getting the number one pick. After they get the number 1 pick Capers and Casserly will be given a free pass and be re-evaluated one more year before Mcnair makes a decesion on the FO".

After reading some of you post I know you guys are divided with your thoughts, and if you will take Bush, or trade down but that is irrelevant right now.

Also Dont crucify me as anyone and everyone that has watched your last three weeks, and Kris Browns kick, has considered the fact that your games are not being decided on the field.

P.S. Domanick Davis is an absolute stud. From an outside perspective this guy is a star and he has nothing to do with whats wrong with you team.

you will probably get a couple harsh comments but ill be civil about it.

No we arent throwing any games.. the Kris Brown kick DOES seem incredible.. but you gotta ask yourself why we had a player field the ball and toss it back to jerome mathis to run down to the 30 yard line in the first place... that isnt what a team trying to lose does with 10 seconds left to play.

Capers will be gone next season.. its all but written in stone. Casserly will most likely return.. alot of people arent happy about that, but McNair seems to want to keep him, at this point.

Davis IS a stud and I hope, if we get the #1 pick, we trade down with someone who wants Bush and pick up a slew of draft picks.

id say good luck with the rest of your season.. but more wins for yall is just as pointless as more wins for us would be... so instead ill say good luck next year.

davis is a solid runningback...but a player like reggie bush only comes along every so often...we would be stupid not to consider taking him with the 1st overall pick which seems to be ours by default...i do not believe we are purposely blowing games...i believe it is a mixture of lack of talent and lack of good coaching...unlike ya'll who have an injury crisis every week...all in all i keep thinking about the possibility of having both davis and bush in the backfield together and watching defenses go crazy trying to figure out which one to target on

Guys, I never accused anyone of anything. Its just a weird rumor, and Its hard to understand.

The Raiders gave up today. They put in a Backup Qb, and made very weird calls. Things I have never seen in years of football. They had been in scoring range TWICE all game, and when they scored a touchdown and were down 10 with 8 minutes to go, they kicked the extra point making them down by 9. They didnt even try to win. So I will let you know this is possible, so dont come off too defensive.

Id say good luck with the rest of your season.. but more wins for yall is just as pointless as more wins for us would be... so instead ill say good luck next year.

As weird as this sounds, Alot of Jet fans watch your games and Root for you guys to win. These last three weeks have been really fustrating. Especially today, Many of us were so pissed off today.

Anyway, If any of you guys wanted to talk draft, or anything else, we have a really good board that would welcome you guys.

http://www.jetsinsider.net/forums/showthread.php?t=105526 ,

We actually talk about you guys alot. You guys will have a huge impact on the rest of the nfl this season.

And btw, the majority of us think Bush will end up in S.F.. I personally predict you guys trade down with S.F. picking up an extra 1st or 2nd, and Julian Peterson(franchised).

DD is a stud and that is why the commentators said Bush would be a waste on this team. You already have a guy doing a great job, and then to bring in a high dollar guy to take carries away is just not good business. Bush will be the 49ers and we will grab winston after we trade down. Hope Pennington is ok and you all can trade down also, I doubt it though. I guess you will likely be going RB or DE.

I like the thought of getting an extra #2 and Peterson... but i seriously doubt it could happen. NFL teams... even ones as bad as the 49ers.. dont usually give up proven stars for potential stars.

would YOU give up your #2 and Vilma for Bush? .. I know I wouldnt give up Dunta Robinson.

in my ideal world.. we will trade down a couple spots to someone who wants to leap frog and pick up Bush.. then we will trade down a few more spots to someone who wants to grab Lienart, Hawk, or Dbrick.... netting us a total of 3-4 more first day picks. Then we will have our choice of OTs like Winston and Scott.. and have plenty of first day picks to give us a boost of young talent at key positions.

Niners won't get rid of Peterson. Nolan is a defensive minded coach and he isn't going to get rid of his best player to get Reggie Bush. I'm not sure they can afford him considering they just gave Alex Smith a gigantic contract.

We share your pain, Jets fan. Hey, hopefully you turn things around next year. I have a lot more faith in your coach Herm Edwards than I do in Dom Capers to get things done over here, that's for sure.

That's kind of a scary rumor, though. I sincerely hope it's not true, because throwing games is just disgusting and about as unsportsmanlike as you can get.

Obviously fans are a bit divided as to whether they want to go for the number one pick or just win as many games as we can, but I don't think anyone wants the team to be sleazy and deceive the fans by throwing games on purpose.

As crappy as it may seem that we threw it, I don't want to know. Because I'm afraid that if I found it were true I'd have to find me a new team.

I'm gonna say it's just the way things are going and noone is trying.
We've got no team leaders, poor coaching, lack of playmakers, and we can't control the line of scrimage

We aren't throwing games. The field goal miss may look a little fishy but both teams missed 3 out of six field goals. The last one the Titans made barely made it in. I think their plant foot was slipping. If the Titans would have triedthe 2 field goals instead of going for it I bet those would have missed too.

I doubt Brown would miss on purpose, but, if he did, I say good-boy! You guys can't suck as bad as we can. :yahoo:

lol @ HJam ....are you turning into the chad johnson of the message boards?

This post just scares me that's all I can say. If Domb Capers comes back next year I will probably boycott the season. I mean I'm loyal but everyone has their breaking points.

A holder can screw up a kick too. Just something to think about.

Once you guys have Bush, You will have the next LT.

You guys just have one more game to lose, thats against S.F. Im not sure but I believe if you beat them, they own the tiebraker.

The colts playing you twice really hurts your tiebrakers this year.

As much as I'd like to believe that my team wasn't as horrible as it is at the moment, and all the losses were part of a big conspiracy to get the #1 pick the rational part of me knows that isn't the case. We're just a very bad team right now who has no faith in our coaching staff and/or front office. Our players have been put in a position to win, but have always found a way to lose the game. Our team doesn't seem to have the same heart that it once did or at least appeared to have, and that means when the game is on the line and you need your players to make those clutch plays they are doomed to come up short. We are just an awful team at the moment, and we're bound to have a great number of awful losses. Even our only win came down to the final play.

The refs did as much to decide that game as any missed FG by Kris Brown. Not calling the safety when the hold was clearly in the end zone was one misstep. The next was the block in the back with the sideline official looking right at Chad Stanley when it happened. Maybe they're in on the conspiracy as well.

If you're trying to tank a game, you don't put that squib kick in Mathis' hands, as someone else said. This team is just bad.

not that I actually believe there is a conspiracy to tank the season, but....

arguments to the effect of "well, they wouldn't have tried to toss the squib kick back to Mathis" doesn't hold water in disproving anything in my opinion.

A conspiracy would not be the entire team and would probably have very little to do with the coaching staff.

If and I mean IF there were an actual conspiracy, this is how it would worK:

McNair or Casserly "suggests" to a player or a group of players that maybe, in the long run, losing rather than winning would help this organization more for the future. These players would have small but vital roles that could possibly decide a game. A poorly timed penalty, a missed catch, a wrong route, a missed block, a shanked punt, a blown coverage...a missed field goal.

It's not like this has not ever happened. The Black Sox threw the 1919 World Series. There has been point shaving in college basketball...

Of coarse, if Kris Brown was in on it, he sure wasn't last week when it looked like his field goal won the game.

Do I think the Texans are tanking games: No, absolutley not.

Do I think it's at least possible that a few players are trying to?: Maybe

I don't think anybody will be asking this question when the season's over because I honestly don't think the Texans will get the 1st. pick.

You guys are a much better team the your record implies.

I really do think you guys should consider a coach like Norv turner for your next head coach.

He is someone that MAKES running backs. He makes them the focus of the organization, and if not headcoach, possible Offensive coordinator.

I personally think you guys will be atleast 8-8 next year.
