Houston Texans @ San Diego Chargers. 9:20. 9/9. ESPN. **Official MNF Thread**

Quotin' yourself, TK? :D

Ah, it doesn't matter, man. I was impressed by your never-give-up cheering attitude. A real fan is what you are. Rep your way, sir.

Lol, always quote yourself when you are right.

I love his sunshining - especially when we come through like today. I think a few are often too quick to dismiss a game when we're down - but hey it is how some people cope with a potential loss. No one who has been on the forum for years takes these games lightly, so I try and keep out of how everyone processes during a game.

Good work to everyone who stayed up a lot later than I had to, and were rewarded with something quite brilliant!

1. Kubiak faked something! First time I've ever seen him do any kind of fake.

2. Keo was useful, if he becomes a solid player I'll have a buffet full of crow to eat.

3. Mother****ing Cush is back!

4. We missed Antonio Smith a lot on the interior, if we don't re-sign him I wouldn't trust Crick or whoever to be able to step up in his place.

5. Mccain looked like the weak link tonight, and J Jo wasn't exactly impressive.

6.Can't wait to get Reed out there and see what he can do.

Game was very entertaining.:texanbill:

Please Texans, don't play like this against the good teams like you did in the first half.

Again, noone expected San Diego to come out with that up tempo crap. Our defense was gassed a bit, most of them getting their legs back.

We made our adjustments at half time & got it done.

I feel for the teams that play SD later in the year when they're able to keep that tempo for 60 minutes.

Wonder if Ryan Mathews is still so happy that he wasn't drafted by the Texans.

13 carries for 33 yards...the feeling's mutual.

it was a combined effort, 2012 going out of his way to make schaub look like a super hero. we caught a break on one of those TDs, got 6 instead of 3 on the penalty. the run game was moving the chains on every score, schaub made throws he had to make on 3rd & long, even extended some plays with his legs to give his recivers time, andre was beast all game getting open. tate looked hungry. defense stepped up after the 4th TD. cushing mad play of the game, took the pressure off the O. schaub led them downfield for the final FG..

we gotta stop coming out slow for these primetime games, some teams arent going to leave the window open.. antonio should make a difference, hopefully redd will be ready to go before the schedule gets tough..

o-line looked shaky.. i was also expecting jj to introduce fluker to the NFL, didnt happen..

Hmm. Now mind you, this is my eye test, I didn't hear his name except on one long play, which is good for a CB. Even on that play he had solid coverage but the WR made that catch regardless. Is he shutdown, nah. But definitely not as glaring as before.

But my eyes were glazed with the sugar from all the kool-aid I was drinking, so take this with a grain of salt :texanbill:

DHop having 5 for 66 is pretty dang OK for a rookie's 1st game. That averages out to 1,056 for the season.

More importantly that's 13 ypc.... not where we need it to be (14+) but it's promising. We need WRs, not skinny TEs.

That was an awesome catch.

When you watch it again, watch them in the huddle before that play.... Schaub was telling him, "You're going to get the ball.... I'm coming to you... be ready."

& he was.

FWIW I still rank San Diego up there with New Orleans for having a QB and offense able to crank some serious points in a short space of time.

Another fantasy guy... Yeah, Schaub is the problem. Most of that was between the 20's and his crap throws and lack of speed are the reason we're having a problem with a team that should have been no problem. Yeah. Schaub sucks. See if you're on you knees like this vs. the Seahawks or another top rate team.

How do you score 3 td's between the 20's?

Also, I was really disappointed in Foster tonight.

Not even because he had a bad numbers game but him pouting about getting benched when he was getting clearly outplayed was pretty immature.

I don't know if something is wrong with Foster but Tate needs more touches while all that is figured out.

Foster 18/57 3.2 ypc
Tate 9 /55 6.1 ypc

i cant wait to read this thread tomorrow. pages 10-70 being "we're the worst team ever, fire everybody!" i assume. especially looking forward to the lurking trolls who jumped the gun with "i told you we suck!".

Yeah - that was getting a bit much. Do we have an ignore function? I've never had reason to use it, but during the heat of gameday, it does sometime get a little bit much.

You're right man. I've dogged him and thought he didn't deserve a spot. He shut me up with his 2 good plays.

You're not the only one. I texted my sister early in the game that he was the weakest link. He at the very least showed tonight why he deserves a roster spot.

How do you score 3 td's between the 20's?

you know what the run game did most of the heavy lifting between the 20s. schaub threw for TDs in the redzone, which is great. but lets not act like this is something that happens all the time..

this was a very unusual game all around..

brown was getting worked, tate looked better than foster, kubiak called plays he never calls, schaub was a beast in the redzone, errr from goalline....

San Diego drives after their last touchdown...

3 and out, 1 yard
3 and out, 1 yard
pick-6 on the first play
3 and out, 0 yards
3 and out, 8 yards

Me too very happy. A mentor like AJ = Priceless.

Just having someone as talented at football to learn from would be amazing, but to have such a humble guy, who I imagine is only too happy to help Hopkins along, well that's just the kicker.

I honestly don't know how AJ has the physical tools to continue dragging cornerbacks like he does - he still looks like he's 26.

Ole DJ Swag didn't look too good either.

Yah but he was playing against one of the best TE to ever play the game that has schooled just about every safety in the game multiple times. I do not expect a rookie to cover Antonio Gates, that's asking like a rookie CB to cover Megatron/Andre.

I agree, he should have never been put in that situation.

Welcome to the NFL rook, now go cover #85.

Just watching the highlights again - I love that as soon as the field goal goes in, they all mob Randy Bullock in celebration and celebrate as a team.

Wasn't the hardest field goal, but he showed some balls with that kick. Passed his first tester at this level, which was harder after the early miss.

QFT!
I noticed that Manning was on Gates after halftime. That slowed the big man's roll quite a bit.

We missed Antonio Smith presence tonight. I am expecting more pressure from Dline next week. Already feeling almost sorry for Titans. (but it's Bud's team so I won't)

I didn't catch it. Damn. So he was crying like a baby?

I wouldn't say he was crying like a baby .... but you could see that he was clearly frustrated.

TBH , I want to see Foster frustrated if he's not playing well , then I want to see what the hell he does about it.
