This is a game tailor made for Pierce…bludgeon that d-line and hit them with Singletary as a change of pace..sprinkled in with a little Stroud in the passing game.

If there is one thing Pierce is good at, it is running into defenders.

Except for running Singletary up middle, I've like the quick hitters to the FB and TE. Those will really loosen up the defense. Make them defend every blade of grass.

Playcalling on O reminds me of the first couple of games of this season when Slowick and Stroud couldn’t fully trust the OL. For all the talk about Howard not being an LG they seemed comfortable with what they were getting from him there and now the line seems out of sync again.

They got on top of those issues previously this season so I’m hopeful they can do it again. I guess we have to give Scruggs some time as a rookie coming off injury playing out of the position he worked on during pre-season.

Poor execution and poor play calling are not mutually exclusive.

Running up the middle 4 times in 10 plays is poor play calling with this team.

You gotta be able to get one yard.

And they can’t like that. Consistently suck at that. I like the way the OL is giving it all they got but They aren’t there yet and Singletary isn’t going to push anybody back. Calling a Pierce play for Singletary behind a line that can’t get any kind of push is stupid and fools nobody. There are other ways to get a yard and they need to explore them before the FG’s start to pile up and they give away another W.
