Really no big suprise here. We knew that he is about 6 foot tall. He ain`t much shorter or taller than advertised. So his stock shouldn`t be falling.

I still believe he is the guy with the highest ceiling and the lowest floor. If we take him it`s a gamble. But if he turns out the pro his talent suggests he might be a top5 QB in the leage in a couple of years.

In short: if we take him I`d be really excited - and really scared at the same time. I still prefer Bridgewater but I wouldn`t be mad if we go the other direction.

Lol at all the people who kept saying "I have met Johnny numerous times, NO WAY IN HELL is he 6ft tall" Because if he was wearing shoes when you met him he was easily 6'

So basically. He's 6 feet tall
No, so basically he's less than 6 ft. As I recall he virtually guaranteed he would be 6 feet tall, so basically then this is the first turd in Manziel's pile of BS.
And now watch his 40 time when he runs - he'll be lucky to break 4.70.

Size is an issue. However M anziel has pluses all over the place. Dominated the SEC. Lived up to expectations. Plus play making ability. Demonstrated leadership skills. Fiery competitor.

His size, though a factor, does not negate all that.

These kids aren't out there wasting their time. This is about a level playing field. No Mike Evans. No spread offenses. No Greg Robinsons. Mano e mano

Is that why AJ McCarron refused to play in the Senior Bowl? :kitten:

And besides, they aren't playing on a level playing field. They're not even in a game-day situation at all. Totally different.

Yep, that dreaded 1/4 inch defecit, what a friggin bald-faced liar.

Anyone considering taking him in the draft should be warned that his track record for deception runs very deep.

Heck, I can't even imagine why Sumlin let the guy start for him.

I think this might have something to do with it. Not sure though.

Well, you're certainly not wrong :D. I'm intrigued to see what the dude's 40 time is. I know it doesn't mean a whole lot, but Evans is faster than I think he is given credit for.

Great athlete, just very raw with the intricacies of playing WR. Probably a 4.5, which is great for his size.

I'm more interested to see what Benjamin will run. There's rumors that he could go sub 4.5.

I hope my sarcasm detector is off. The dude is 6ft tall. At 5'11 and 3/4 inch height I'm curious what his driver's license says.

If Benjamin runs somewhere in the 4.40s he could catapult himself into top 15, top 10 even. People are going to fall in love with that size and red zone ability, even if drop balls are a concern.

He could go to the Jets and become the next Stephen Hill or he could become the next big bodied threat.

He's a lot better than Stephen Hill was when coming out, but still pretty raw. I liken him more to Demaryius Thomas.

If he goes to the right team, then, I think he could be extremely successful. How would you feel about him on the Lions? Jeez, that offense would be scary as hell with Megatron and Benjamin headlining it.

If they took him in the 1st round then I would feel like the Lions really don't understand the draft.

That said, that duo would be ridiculous. He definitely needs some coaching though.

Sumlin referred Manziel for alcohol concerns to on campus counseling. Had meetings with him for next couple of years.

Manziel 1
O'Brien 0

OB's presser coincides with JFF... room is nearly empty for the new coach.

Who said anything about game day? I said level playing field. We've already seen what they can do on game day. This isn't about replacing what we already know. Just more information to add to what we already know.

lol at people still talking about his height and not drafting quarterbacks unless they are 6'3 tall. What a stupid line of thinking.

hasnt the height thing been debunked by the doug fluties, drew brees, and russell wilsons of the world?

height? are we seriously talking about height here?

What the hell has height ever gotten us with our quarterbacks?

Yea david carr had height, so did matt schaub, so did rosencopter, what has the prototypical quarterback ever given the texans except for pain and suffering?

I mean dont texans ever heard the phrase learning from your past mistakes? Texan front office need to go george costanza and go against their instinct for once.

Lets not go with our prototypical quarterback which always gets us our typical failed results. How about we go against our franchise instinct of failing when it comes to quarterbacks and go with the wildcard high upside?

How about we go where the league is trending to with these shorter mobile quarterbacks?

How about we get caught up for once and not be behind all the time?

Our QBs weren't limited by their height. & as soon as 5' tall QBs start racking up super bowls & first time HOF status, I'll change my way of thinking.

Besides, I've stated repeatedly, bluntly that I like Manziel most of the top three. So its not like I'm only looking at height, as you imply.

I'm also not against drafting QBs who aren't 6'3" i never said as much. Just won't do it with the number one overall. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. He'd have to be an extremely special talent.

& while I do think Johnny is special enough for someone to think he is a top 5 pick, I think it would be a mistake.

I am not overly concerned with height but three guys (one of whom was a marginal player) in 30 years doesn't debunk anything.

You can be sure that for some time Manziel was doing everything he could to hit that 6 foot goal at the Combine.

The average height of a person decreases, on average, .6 inches over the course of the day. This is equal to about a 1% loss of height from morning to evening. Why does this occur? The answer is that the intervertebral discs, or spinal discs, are composed largely of water (maintaining full hydration at all times is also very important to keeping the discs fully "inflated"). The discs rest between the spinal bones, or vertabrae. These intervertebral discs are compressed as we stand and walk--it is our own body weight that compresses the intervertebral disc. When you sleep at night, the compressive pressure is relieved, and the discs expand again. While the difference is small, it is a fact.

As far as inversion can actually increase height to some extent (usually temporarily). Since the average person is always sleeping incorrectly and sitting wrong this causes your posture (spine) to be somewhat slouched specially while your walking. Therefore a postural exercise and inversion routine can straighten and improve posture over time letting you to appear to be up to 1.5 inches taller since the slouch in your spine is hiding your real height. A routine with inversion exercise, especially using some some weights with the inversion, the muscles, ligaments, and fibrocartilage discs are stressed and in response to this stress they tend to thicken. This thickening between the vertebrae over time are felt to be able to give small increases in height, anywhere from .5 to 1 .5 inches

Yes, as much as you can be sure that Manziel recognized the importance of measuring out at 6" at the Combine, you can also be sure that had he been measured out a couple of months ago, he would not have ever reached his 5'11 3/4."

Bortles = Bust.

If the texans dont want manziel, id rather them draft clowney and team him up with watt than draft a cross dresser or some dude who came out of nowhere named Bortles.

NObody named blake bortles will ever be a great qb.

Just look at the history of great quarterbacks. Bortles name does not belong.

You dont like manziel, fine, just stay away from bortles and cross dressers.

Are there meds that can fix what's wrong with you or is it a permanent condition?
