2022 NFL Draft Simulator

Toro Bravo

Rookie
For all of the Monday morning QB's and amature GM's I want to share this draft simulator. You can put on your GM hat and draft the players you think we should have, including trades. You can waste hours playing with this.

NFL Mock Draft Simulator - Pro Football Network

Here is my first 5 round mock draft;
3 - trade with Min. We rec. pick 12, 46, 77 & 2023 2nd rnd.
12 - trade with Pitts + pick 243. We rec. pick 20 & 52.
20 - Charles Cross, OT Miss. St.
37 - Cameron Thomas, Edge. San Diego St.
46 (from MN) - Trent McDuffie, CB. Washington.
52 (from Pitts) - Chad Muma, LB. Wyoming.
68 - Jalen Wydermeyer. TE. Texas A&M.
77 (from MN) - Christian Watson, WR. NDST
80 - Nick Bonitto, Edge. Oklahoma.
136 - Dameon Pierce, RB. Florida.
We have no 5th round pick but have 2023 2nd round from Min.
I would be happy if Nick can do this.

Thanks JB. I didn't see that thread. My intent was to provide the link to the simulator, not necessarily the results.

Try the PFF simulator, it's better than the PFN simulator

OK, just whipped out a more realistic simulator mock without trades. Very painful, missed on players including RB's I hoped to add. Back to drawing board I guess, doubt anyone likes this version, but did target good players, who should be there (question #3 Neal but still fluid nobody knows, he is best & most LT prospect in this draft).

Made a bunch of trades. Came away with a solidifed OL, weapons for Mills, much needed speed in the defense (particularly pass rush juice with Sanders/Mafe), a playmaking weapon in Marcus Jones. And two 2nds, a 3rd and 4th for next year. Lost Houston’s 3rd in trade down 4 spots in 2nd (got Linderbaum) but swapped next year’s 3rd for Atlanta’s 2nd next year.

  • 12. Kenyon Green
    OG Texas A&M

  • 43.
    Tyler Linderbaum

I think this is a very solid draft, especially at the top. You're not going to fill every hole on the Texans roster in one draft. There's always next year.

Speaking of next year, that's when Ekiyor and McKee will be in the draft. Both are back in school for 2022. Why these mock draft simulators can't figure out how to update their databases is puzzling and takes away some of my interest in using them.

Center, Ricky Stromberg from Arkansas will be in the 2023 NFL Draft as well.

Did another Mock while taking some ever changing ideas into consideration.

I mentioned in another post that I wouldn’t mind the team going offense primarily so the Mills development phase would have a better chance at success this season. Getting some road graders who can pass block with a couple of backs who could take advantage would really help Mills this season. Getting a top TE, and a couple of speedy receivers would help as well.

If I’m keeping the #3 pick, then I’m taking Hamilton as a solid difference maker and leader for the defense. I couldn’t walk away from the trio late that I really, really like. Getting Hamilton help in Hawkins, Watson, and Bell would get the defensive backfield on track in a hurry. Now, include Chase Allen on the defensive line along with the young guys already there and I think the DL could take a big step up. An interesting piece would be Air Force cadet, Jordan Jackson whose a massive fit at DE. It’d be nice to have the discipline of an AF cadet in the locker room. I also like Rose whose ST hitter until he plays himself into the LB’er rotation.

What is the current availability of a player with a military commitment? The ability to get a deferment seems to change year to year.

Because of C-19 this group of AF cadets entering the draft may be getting a choice of pursuing an NFL career and coming back to the military later or stay the course and enter their military careers. I guess the drafting team and player can roll the dice by selecting one of the cadets knowing that if they don’t make the cut the Air Force will be ready to take them back.

So much work went into this, well thought out, who knows see if it sticks.

Watson hurdle clearly rests now in the courts, TBD.

Doubt any team would give up that much for Laremy Tunsil? Best option would be Bengals going all in and they have the cap space to fit, protect franchise in exchange for #31.

Moving Cooks is something, I'd really hate to see. Best option for Mills, lets retire him a Texan, if he still wants that.

Trading Tunsil would change my #3 overall preference to best LT prospect and that would be Charles Cross, 6-5 310. No drop off from Laremy and more upside. Otherwise like all your draft picks (Texans owned).

The Eagles had a strong run at the end of the season and now they’ve decided to stick with QB, Jalen Hurts and build around him. They also have the assets and need for a top LT to protect Hurts’ blindside. Giving up 1 of their 3 RD1 picks and a couple of RD5 picks to eliminate rolling any of this trade into 2023 is what makes trading for Tunsil doable. If the Eagles got serious, the Bengals wouldn’t be able to better their offer.

I love the draft as well and while I don't have the same level of understanding of the team that you all do, I thought I would take a stab at my #2 team with a mock of my own. I decided not to bother beyond your first 5 picks. Don't blast me too much, this is my first shot at it.

1st Round: Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
Man I love watching this kid play. He's not only one of the best safeties and players in this draft, he's arguably one of the best prospects to come out of college in the last 4-5 years. Would love to see him be to tone setter for the Texans defense for years to come.

2nd Round: Zion Johnson, OG, Boston College
Many think Johnson will be gone before this pick and he may, but there's good odds that between him and Kenyon Green, someone will fall. Not long ago, I was looking at draft history of interior linemen in the first round. Since 2021, there have only been two drafts where more than 2 interior linemen have been taken in the first round. Does that mean someone will certainly fall ?? No, but I like those odds. Johnson or Green here would be massive for the o-line.

3rd Round (a): Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
Who is the best TE in this year's draft is certainly arguable, but I have McBride as my TE1 and think he's a great pick here with the Texans first pick in the 3rd round. Good size, speed, and hands, but what I really like about this kid along with all of that, is his attitude. It comes through in his playing and I really wouldn't mind seeing the Bengals take him at the bottom of the 2nd to be honest.

3rd Round (b): Marcus Jones, CB, Houston
No, he's not the top of the CB heap, but it's his ability in the return game and adding another dynamic to the team who may still struggle depending on how Mills progresses in year two. If a good o-line can help a QB and the defense can help a QB, having the ability to shorten the field also helps a QB. Seeing as how he plays there in Houston, you guys may have a better take on him.

4th Round: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
I watch an absolute buttload of college football, but this kid plays here in Cincinnati and I've watched him for quite some time. May not be a #1 WR, but is exactly what you want in your #2. There isn't much I don't like in his game. Good size, above average speed, and catches dang near everything thrown his way. This is also another attitude guy. Maybe it's just me, but I like the guys with fire. Be a pro, make plays, and fire up and lead your team.

Obviously there are many other ways this could go and it's way ahead of the game with free agency starting next week and trades start taking place as well. It's more for fun than anything else. Enjoy and I hope you all have a great week !!!

I hope all those trades are settled before the draft. My heart can’t take all those 1st round trade downs in real time

Especially considering the commercial breaks before the Texans are on the clock

As long as though trade downs return similar results….I’ll be getting chips and beer during those commercial breaks.

I’d be pretty stoked to exit RD1 with Olave and Pitre in the books. Difference makers on both sides of the ball. Getting Olave could make Cooks available to a team like the Packers who should be looking for Adams replacement. I think a RD2 pick would be sufficient, but based on their sudden need, getting a RD5 tossed in may not be out of the question.

You should’ve seen my facial expression. Lol but when I kept going through his predictions . I was like heck yeah.

Alright, yall suckered me into the simulator 😆😆
Ha ha! yeah, I have done both the PFF and PFN mocks about 100 times just to see what happens if I make trades or pick certain players at different times. What's strange is the difference in the ranking of many players between both mock draft analysist as well as so-called experts. Just goes to show that nobody really knows how a prospect will really perform - it's all just a SWAG.
