Denver's asking him to take a cut this year (2016), and a bigger cut in 2017. I understand the request for one season, but by requiring a reduction for 2017, you're removing his chance to earn his contract.Im sure he wouldnt mind it, but if the deal is being held up because he rather have the money then he really doesnt want to be a Bronco. He has never come out and said it, but you can gather that he doesnt care about being a Bronco as much as he cares about the money
If it were one year, I'd probably recommend Kaep accept the pay cut, and put himself in a position to either get paid or cut based on his performance in 2016. That doesn't look like the opportunity Denver's offering him. If the way it's being reported is accurate, I'd turn it down too.
