Are the Texans the worst team in NFL?

nut

Veteran
It is really starting to seem like it. Kind of hard to believe with the talent on the team.

Some in Atlanta may argue the point, but yeah we hold that distinction as of now

Apparently we are. If you can't score a TD on a team that had the worst record in the NFL, what else can you say?

Your thread title should be a comment NOT a question

We are the worst team in the league

You do realize if we played the Falcons, home or road, we would lose? Especially if they played as good a game as I saw them play against the Saints. A team many are picking as the best team in the NFC.

What talent? Take away J.J. Watt and Andre Johnson and we are no better than the Jaguars on paper. And paper doesn't win games like we saw today.

Sure, if we had a healthy Arian Foster, Brian Cushing, Owen Daniels and Danieal Manning it might have been a different story. Tons of solid players lost for the season. Well actually, Owen Daniels is planning to return against the Broncos or Colts late in the season. We'll see. I'd rather he just sit out and come back strong in 2014.

Yes we are. But at utilizing available talent, we're the worst team in the history of the NFL.

Yes. They are also the most snakebit team in the league. Their streak of having the ball bounce the wrong way is impressive. This season has turned into a 10 ton snowball rolling off of Mt. Everest. It's only gaining momentum.

I think they are a lot more talented than their record would lead you to believe.

Problem is they lack talent at the most key position on the field - QB and they also lack talent at three of the five OL spots.

Put an above average QB on this team and it's probably a 10 win team , fix the OL as well and they are as good as any team in the league.

You can't discount all the injuries we've had, an incredible collapse by Schaub (never thought he could be this bad) and a complete erosion of play be the OL

I think we have talent here to make the playoffs, just need a coaching staff to come in and shake things up.

One year it was a hurricane. Often it's the referees. There was a season that was unfair because the Texans had four road games in a row or something. Once the schedule was just "too hard".

Oh, I forgot one! "It's the fans' fault".

I think the Texans have an organization that, except for last year, isn't working. The team and its management isn't good right now. This year's excuses won't change that.

With our current roster the way it is not including all these guys we have lost for the season +KJ the last 2 games then Hell yeah we are the worst.

Not to mention Tate has shown he can not carry a team like Foster can, so if the Browns still want this Wishy Washy Running back come get him.

NOW are we the worst team in the NFL without all the injuries. I'd have to say no. And i kinda feel bad for Case that he has had to start with the team so demolished by injuries. He hasnt had a running game since he became the starter, hell one game he only had a FB as both RBs got hurt.

Take out Manning deep, Cushing in the Middle and that is a big difference to your defense. Then take away Foster and O.D and there goes 2 of your biggest weapons on offense. Defenses feared Foster, they dont fear Tate. And O.D was one of the better TEs at finding the soft spot in the Defense.

On the other hand they do continue to start Newton which blows my mind, this coaching staff regardless of the talent we lost would of cost us 6-7 games alone just by their inability to let the best players play and adjust to what other teams are doing. Either way we are 2-9 so does it really matter.

Have Hope!

I just did the ESPN Playoff Simulator, if we win out and the Colts lose the remainder of their games along with a Titan loss or two, we will host a Wild Card game most likely against the Chiefs!

The Seahawks made it to the playoffs a few years ago with a 7-9 record.

Last year, the Kansas City Chiefs were in the same position as the Texans- loads of talent, poor QB play, tons injuries, bad luck and poor coaching.

Got a new QB and new HC/GM, rest is history.

Maybe if the owner grows a pair, he can clean house ay QB, HC, GM.....

9 straight losses...last win was in september.

a whopping total of 39 pts scored on offense in all 2nd halves combined this season

a record 5 straight games with a pick 6 thrown

a grand total of 8 total TO's caused by our fraud #1 rated defense

an offensive minded HC who, get this, doesn't have a clue of how to fix our offense!..........:kubepalm:

and the cherry on top is that we just managed to lose at home to a team that everyone else unanimously thought was the worst team in the league.

We're hammered dog ****...complete with undigested corn & bologna wraps in it...does that answer your question?

Hogwash! We're not even close to KC talent-wise. KC was stacked across the board (up until both Hali and Houston went down). They only needed a plug and play QB and a good HC.

We, otoh, have needs across the board. QB, oline, ILB, OLB, CB, S, RB, etc.

9 game losing streak + losing to Jaguars = WORST IN NFL

Sad, but true.

I think this team is even worse than the 2005 Texans that went 2-14. At least that was still in the 'expansion' phase (or could be argued 4 seasons in).

The 2013 Texans are coming of their best season ever and a playoff win. We expected playoffs and the only question was how far can they go in the post-season. Missing the playoffs, much less having a 2-9 record, was never even considered back in August.

I don't know yet, but we suck.

But heck, why not give the players a day off...lol

Tania Ganguli ‏@taniaganguli 17m
#Texans have cancelled player availability today because the players got the day off. Kubiak will address media at 3:30.

Due to injuries...yes we're the worst. We just lost to the worst team pre-week 12. Now that we lost to them...we own that title. Facing the other 2-9 team would result in a bad loss at this point so by deducing all this.....it's safe to say we're the worst.

At the game yesterday, around halftime my wife asked, "did we practice this week?"

I see no evidence of it.

No disrespect to Mrs. TejasTom BUT, it would NOT have mattered one little bit.

We're 2 and infinity and we talkin' 'bout practice? Not a game, not a game - We talkin' 'bout practice?

Lmao, don't know your wife, but shes ok in my book. Needed that laugh. Sometimes it really boils down to something as innocuous as "did they even practice" good stuff.

This team was destined to crumble.

The signs have been there for a couple years, but I think being a fan of the team made me personally see past those faults.

Well at the end if last year I couldn't do it. Before the season started I figured there would be a good chance we'd miss the play offs. Was not excited for this season at all, but it's turned out even worse than I figured but I can't say I'm totally shocked.

This isn't the worst team in the nfl, but we are missing talent at some key spots and the head coach isn't that good.

The texans team could very easily be 0-11 right now.

Good thing is the kids will be kicked out by 9PM if they go to Dave and Busters on their day off

Their record says otherwise

You know who we look like? Like the Colts in the suck for Luck season. A team with plenty of talent that doesn`t get it done because of bad coaching and bad QB play - and I believe in both cases because the organisation wanted to tank to get a high pick.

Our HBs look good when healthy - so does FB. WR doesn`t look half bad. On O Line Brown and Myers can be spectacular although they haven`t done much this season. Brooks and Jones both looked good at times. Our top two TEs are definetly not the problem. So that is offense. QB, RG and RT are a problem - we might have a RT in Quizz or Williams who got hurt before the season.

On D our line looks good, we might upgrade NT. Our OLBs didn`t do much, our ILB look ok to great when Cushing is healthy. Our corners are alright, so are our safeties (Swearinger needs some experience, but Manning and also Keo don`t look bad).

Every team has holes - we could fix basically all our real holes with a great draft. QB early, RT and OLB shortly after, grab a NT, ILB and G when possible. We would still have real standouts at WR, HB, LT, both DEs, ILB and possibly Corner. That doesn`t look too bad.

Our team is just a mess this season - and I blame coaching and bad QB play, not the talent of our team. Next season with a new coach and if we get good draft picks we should go right next to the playoffs.

I wonder if this would be your belief last year if you were a kc fan... Something tells me that you would be much more cynical.

The problem is our opponents are always really, really good right when they play us for that one day. :smiliepalm:

My honest belief at this point is that we need to replace the GM and entire coaching staff, except for possibly Wade & whoever he wants to keep that works under him. I'm not saying Wade has done well, but I don't see him as the problem or the solution. He is just a good DC trying to hold it together on a team that is falling apart around him.

Marciano has to go. Kubiak has just lost it, & needs to go, and Rick Smith is either part of the problem or possibly the ultimate cause of it. Everyone else I haven't mentioned yet is just part of Kube's staff that need to go out with him. Maybe Kubiak can get it right with another team, but he has blown it here at this point.

Wade's defense is following the trend. Blitz a lot and play man. Teams have figured out which matchups to exploit. He needs to go as well. He doesn't mix things up or have anything innovative to keep them off balance. He is "out coached" just as much as Kubiak is on the other side.

I do agree with your first 3 sentences.

In all honesty, I do not believe we are the worst team in the NFL.

I know we are the worst-coached team in the NFL.

We are also the worst NFL team when it comes to realizing talent.

We are the most unlucky team in the NFL.

It is really starting to seem like it. Kind of hard to believe with the talent on the team.

Most of the talent on this team is hype. Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, JJ Watt, Brian Cushing, Duane Brown are all pro talented athletes in the league outside of them it's hype. Everything in our secondary is overrated.
