Case, Thanks for the brief and fleeting moments of excitement.

That's whet she said.

Well, like Kubiak supposedly going to be the home town hero and wasn't, Keenum follows the same path. To bad.

Wow. Somebody mentioned the Ravens were interested and I thought they were kidding (but I don't know why in retrospect).

The article is only three sentences, but there it is.

So that's all 3 qbs from last season gone.

Difficult to imagine how you start the off season with Schaub , Yates and Keenum and end it worse. Rick Smith must go.

I don't think we are worse than Schuab Yates and Keenum.

We still need a starting QB, but those 3 suck donkey balls right now.

Our 3 now just suck drainage water.

I'll take Yates over all three of our present QBs. Not by a whole lot mind you, but I would.

Fitz - worthless
Savage - work in progress, not up to par for a NFL QB just yet
Mullet - a dead fish

I couldn't stand Yates.

Yep it's a close call. 2013 vs 2014 qb roster is like a choice between AIDS and cancer.

So the answer to the poll was "None of the above - Case makes 53 man roster, but is cut for QB Ryan Mallett before the season actually begins."

Mullet - a dead fish

And you know this better than OB and Godsey because you've seen so much film on the guy and worked with him in practice? Or you just don't know him and he's been sitting on the bench behind Tom Brady for 3 years so he must suck?

He was worthless this preseason. He was drafted in the 3rd round, and they get back a conditional 6th or 7th round two years from now for him. That says enough.

I know I'm not in the majority here, but I just don't see bringing in another failed QB this late before the season starts. Maybe he'll work out and everyone can make fun of me later. For now, I think it was a stupid move at this juncture in the season.

And yet he had a better QB Rating than Kaepernick, Foles, Fitzpatrick, Yates, or Keenum.

You shouldn't judge a guy on a couple of series in pre-season. You have no idea who he is, really.

No, I don't. Doesn't mean I like the move, it also doesn't mean I've lost it for our new coaching staff either. Just because they do something I really don't like, doesn't mean I don't understand they are trying to rebuild something here.

There is a new set of QBs this season. Apparently the kind BoB wanted. So be it. Don't think for a second I won't be cheering them on this coming Sunday. But as of yet, I still don't see the value in this. Time will tell us all.

I think a large part of the equation is that post-Schaub team doesn't want to force a solution, over-pay for guys they aren't totally sold on, and would rather find your #2QB in a season where you patiently wait to attack the next QB class. Case didn't look like a NFL player at times.

going around the tweeter...If Keenum never starts another NFL game, he'll be first player since merger to throw for 1,700+ yards without a win.

Wins are a team thing in football. And after the second JAX game I
knew the team opened up a can of quit

Good post! As a fan, I'm glad I chose to not have any expectations for the season. I can just sit back and, hopefully, gain a mostly unbiased opinion of OB's coaching staff and the team they've assembled. I have no intentions of repeating the emotional rollercoaster of last season.

That's the fickle nature of the QB beast. Too much credit, too much blame and too much % of the salary cap.

analytically speaking the best place for Case would be with the
Seahawks. His style of play, mobility, downfield passing, and
not being the focal point (running game and receivers) is much
more in tuned with how the seahawks use Wilson..

Never happen though..

The Seahawks are my NFC team. I would love that. Love it.

He didn't have the arm or accuracy BOB wants IMO .

To all you keenum fans this is for you .

This was never going to be his type of offense. And I admit that I was not happy with his performance when given his chance within this system. But I would doubt very much if he does not have extended to him another opportunity to fit into more of a west coast offense.

His NFL career is over. When you can't make it as the backup quarterback for the worse team in the NFL then your done.

Poor taste, my man, poor taste.

76Texan

What I want to know is how does hall sit like that with a pair of balls between his legs? I find it impossible. Seems like a very feminine seating position.

Sorry 76, Keenum is gone bro, but I look forward to your analysis of Mallett instead of all the Keenum love.

As a Texans fan since 2002 I have learned to expect at least one
"slap in the face moment" a year..

1) VY's game winning score
2) Jacoby's performance in the playoff/superbowl
3) Carr getting a ring with the Giants..

Here's scenario I could see happening:

1) Gary signs Case to replace Tyrod in Bal.
2) Baltimore slaps the Texans around through 3 quarters when we play them this year.
3) Keenum comes in at garbage time and throws a TD to Owen Daniels..

I don't understand the keenum hate. Is it because he's from UH?

Part of the Keenum hate is a backlash to the Keenum love.

At the beginning, there were a wide range of expectations surrounding Case. I think a lot of us wanted Case to do well. Some of us took that and ran with it, defending Case, expecting him to be the next Drew Brees, etc. Especially after his first two games.

Then it came crashing down. For some people, those high expectations turned to ashes and they flip-flopped and became haters. Others became even more defensive.

Then again, some people always thought he was a scrub.

Yep, pretty much. Hit the nail right on the head. MSR.

Exactly. And I have no problem with falling into the Keenum love group. I am disappointed in what happened, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

Good post Sir. MSR.
