Don't have the actual schedule, but these are our opponents for 2016-2017: (as you may already know)

Colts (twice)
Jaguars (twice)
Titans (twice)
Chiefs
Chargers
Bears
Lions
Bengals
Broncos
Raiders
Packers
Vikings
Patriots

Now, I know every year is different and we may address some of the positions of need in the draft and FA, but how do you guys see the season playing out as our team stands? You think we'll be at least .500? And, judging by the list of opponents, do you think we will have better draft position in 2017? Maybe the same, or a little worse than #22 in the first round?

I think 8-8 or 9-7 (no AFC South title) best case scenario. Could be way worse...

*JUST HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING, NOT SUGGESTING THIS WILL HAPPEN*

Another near average season is in the cards. Drafting position will be better because we won't be in the playoffs. We snuk in this season only because the Dolts were without their star QB so much of the time.

As long as it's 8-8 or worse, I'm good with that. I don't see us going anywhere until we upgrade our O-line, get a good RB, and a good TE. Our defense shouldn't be that hard to maintain since it's probably easier to land a decent defensive linemen than it is to land a decent QB. The earlier the picks, the better for us. I hope that tub of lard (John McClain) knows what he's saying, and we do focus more on offense from here on. (He said that on his chat thing a few weeks back)

It depends who is starting at quarterback going into 2016. If it's the same crap we have now. 9-7 again or 10-6 if we're lucky.

If it's an upgrade, I'll just throw out Peyton Manning's name, then 13-3 or 12-4 is possible, and on our way to becoming the first team in NFL History to play in a Super Bowl inside our own stadium.

Fixed it for you, and I now agree.

Depending on if a rookie QB starts most of the games (6-10/8-8) and if the McNair's spend $$$$ in FA. Plus 4 contributors need to be added in the draft. 6-7 contributors = 9-7/10-6.

This yrs schedule is really tough. Bigtime upgrades need to be made or I expect regression without a rookie QB starting.

Do you think 2038 will be a winning season? The my neighbors just had a kid and my neighbor was an all state QB in 7th grade... What if we draft him?

Yeah we will be the first team to reach the SB in our own backyard

and TBO I does not mater who our QB is we will find a awhile to win with any QB

Hoyer
TJ
Weeden
Savage
F/A
Draft rookie

I does not matter

Winning? Hell, who knows? Does it matter if it's 9 wins and no playoffs, or a 1-and-done WC game? This year was a "winning" season, but I sure as hell don't feel like it. So regardless what the record turns out to be, I voted no, because I guess my standards are maybe a bit higher than just 9 wins. I don't see the Colts collapsing again this year, so that's probably working against the team. I reserve the right to change my vote if they get a difference maker at the QB position.

Next year, same as this year. Good defense, weak offense, means about 8 to 10 wins and maybe a playoff spot. If anything out of the ordinary happens, it'll be a crash and burn year. It won't be a "good" year unless we just happen into a good QB who starts day one and stays healthy. My money is not on either disaster or glory, but the same ole same ole stuff.

Not a chance. They will be playing a first place schedule and
Luck will be back.

The team has corrected cap issues, but now has talent holes everywhere.

Will take a few years to get back to 2011 competitiveness..

7-9 or 6-10 if we stay somewhat healthy

People who say this have no idea what a first place schedule means.

Way back before the Texans were an NFL franchise a first place schedule meant something. Now... it means next to nothing. 14 games are already set way before anyone knows how any team is going to finish.

We're going to play the AFC South, The AFC West, & the NFC North regardless whether we finish 1st or last in the division. The only difference is that we'll play the 1st place team from the two AFC divisions we don't play. That will be New England & Cincinnati. & we'll probably lose to the Patriots. But the chances of the Colts beating the Jets isn't that much better. & chances are the Steelers will be a better team than the Bengals.

& as far as Andrew Luck goes. We've never swept them. The three times we've won the division, we won one game & lost the other. Other than that, it makes no difference if "Andrew Luck is back" how we do against the other 14 teams.

Yeah, to win the division we'll probably need to win at least 10 games. Maybe 11 because the Colts will win 10 or 11 games. But against the AFC.. we can still win 9 games or 10 to get a wild card.

That said. I think it depends on how our defense plays out the gate. I'm blaming Hard Knocks for why we were sluggish to start the season, so I'll assume we'll start the season strong & continue to be strong all year long. If that's the case... fixing the RT spot is the most important concern I have. If we can run the ball... pick up 3rd & short, 4th &1. Then I'm pretty sure everything else will fall into place for us to have a winning season.

This team is foundering until it gets a QB.

At the end of the day, this is really what it all comes to depend on.

And right now, we have no starting QB, so I have no reason to rah-rah about the team.

Low expectations means no disappointment. And until they get a viable starting QB, I see no reason to raise expectations.

That's one reason I was in favor of the 18-game season...start making Strength-of-Schedule controllable again.

What it means is two more guaranteed losses.
that is why I said 7-9 or 6-10

If we start the season with Hoyer, it could be worse.

can you provide film on him and what is his 40? Can he throw over a ladder? I suggest you get a fortune teller (we have one here in Seabrook if you do not know of one) and project his final size as tall strong QBs are the rave.

Trust me. Before the season is over, you'll start believing we've got a shot to win the Super Bowl

OR, those are the teams with a tough schedule because they play US!

He moves faster than Cam at a press conference.

I am a Texans homer, but I'm not a crack head or
one who indulges in delusions of grandeur...

We need more juice than the Ark of the Covenant possesses
for this team (as constructed) to win a Super Bowl..
