Texans Senior “Offensive Assistant” Jerry Schuplinski.

I agree. But it seems you are saying with a sucky OL, a QB has to suck it up and make plays like Joe Burrow. While also saying, with a sucky OL, there's not much an OC can do.
I said what I said, the OC can call as many plays as he wants but very few of them will work with a bad OL. There will be 5-10 plays where the OL does it's job and the QB has to make those plays to give his team a chance to win. Burrow is a master of doing this. The OC just has to be avg.

Be realistic.

Were there “plays to be made” for Mahomes? You and others have already said that about “S2roud” ad nausem.
I'm being realistic, there were plays there to be made. I'll give you 2 games to go back and watch. Lions/Ravens, tell me there weren't plays there to be made. Stroud will be fine with better protection, but he needs to work on his footwork and he really needs to learn the new offense this offseason since he's going to be able to audible into different protections/plays next season.

Now we're speculating. I'm just talking facts.

Everything is speculation concerning the Texans. Except for the outcomes, which are frequently accompanied by expletive deleted speculations.

Perhaps Strausser was the only experienced offensive line coach available at the time? I have no idea. The Texans have a way of always needing to fill important positions at the worst possible time. Be it draft position, free agency, coaching, etc.

I'm confused. Did not Slowik call plays that had linemen attempt to make reach blocks they couldn't execute? Did someone interrupt his play call and create their own blocking scheme? That still sounds like speculation. So we all agree that the linemen did a poor job of executing their assignments, right? Those are facts. These plays calls that the offensive line could not execute continued, right? Also facts. Who killed Colonel Mustard in the conservatory with a candlestick is speculation.

Here's some (fairly random) speculation that kinda ties into the above...

Oh! I happen to be a wild speculator.

The product on the field would lead me to speculate that there were too many chiefs and not indians on the offensive coaching staff last year. Of those "chiefs", some of them clearly didn't know what they were doing or were delusional as to what their players could accomplish. I would like to point out that Demeco specifically said at the Caley press conference that last year they [offensive staff] didn't have "one voice" which leads me to believe there was a lot of lack of one of our favorite words as a Texans fan: alignment.

Trying to be as positive as possible until I see reason to devolve into SOT territory, I hope that next year's offense will be bottom of the top tier, or top of the second tier. With our defense, I think we have the capability possibly make it to the AFCCG.

IF Meco has 100% control over offense then Slow wasn't the problem and this offense will suck again next season.

Giving a rookie HC absolute control on a side of the ball that is not his strength is IMO stupid. Some say, absolutely.... cause he IS the HC.... but handing the reigns of an offense to a defensive guy so soon would be beetle headed.

I loved Meco the player, so far Meco the coach is meh.

I'd like to think that if I can realize you dont put a defensive guy solely in charge of the offense..... that at least someone with authority in the organization can see it too.

IF not we are a season away from watering our crops with Brawndo.

IF the man speaks to his strengths... listen. IF he speaks of his weakness as if it is his strength... resoectfully seek a second more informed opinion.

But what do I know... Im just an idiot that come preseason no matter what they do will be saying "Go Texans!" as always.

But it has what plants crave....

Stroud is young and definitely has room to improve. I am very confident Stroud will put in the work as nothing suggests he has not in the past. I am also very excited for next year. He faced more pressure on average throughout the season then Mahomes did in the Super Bowl. C.J. Stroud was pressured on 39.5% of his dropbacks and the league average was around 25%. Even in his first year he was pressured (35.3%) . If Stroud gets a bit better on seeing the defensive scheme, the line gets a bit better, and better TE play design we should get closer to the average pressure and should see very positive gains out of our offense. Stroud is very good and with just a few upticks on each position group, we can expect great things.
