This is an interesting development. I wonder how many smaller school prospects will lose out on an invite because juniors will be taking spots. I see the pros and cons of adding in underclassmen.

There are at least 3 other all star games that players can participate in. One in Hawaii, another in LA, and another somewhere in Florida. All on TV. All with scouts in attendance. Everyone worth a lick gets their shot. Plus many more that aren't worth a lick.

Any particular underclassmen that you’re excited about that the Texans can scout at the games? There are at least 3 other all star games that players can participate in. Probably need to wait to see who declares. But Washington RS JR Edge Bralen Trice has the measurables that suggest he's NFL ready.Any particular underclassmen that you’re excited about that the Texans can scout at the games?
Like Mr. Hunt, I have also gained 50+ pounds since high school. Unlike Mr. Hunt, I have sacrificed everything. Especially speed.
He's right up near the top of my wish list for the 2024 draftI’m excited to see this big guy. I’d love to have him in the middle of our line.
4th rd Safety prospect. IMHO
I wouldn’t mind add him to our DB room.
Depending on how he performs at the senior bowl I think he could jump to mid-late day 24th rd Safety prospect. IMHO
I believe the coaching staff is pulled from non-playoff teams.
I wonder if any of the Texans coaching staff will get to coach this year.
I could see the Cardinals or Vikings being good options as coaching staffs.I believe the coaching staff is pulled from non-playoff teams.
Used to be the two worst teams that kept their coaching staffs in place coached the Sr Bowl squads. Has this changed?I could see the Cardinals or Vikings being good options as coaching staffs.
It's the two non-playoff teams most willing to show up.Used to be the two worst teams that kept their coaching staffs in place coached the Sr Bowl squads. Has this changed?
I thought they changed the all star game coaching staff last year where someone from each team gets to coach somehow. I’ll see if I can find more information on it.Used to be the two worst teams that kept their coaching staffs in place coached the Sr Bowl squads. Has this changed?
I really like Rice and Wilson if Texans go WRNextGen Speedsters Article
Interesting article on the fastest guys that will be at the senior bowl. If we wanted more speed on offense or defense, this lists multiple guys that could be options for us.
They’d be great options for day 2. I also really like McConkey even though he’s not a speedster. He’s an excellent route runner though.I really like Rice and Wilson if Texans go WR
McConkey is going to play a long time in the NFL.They’d be great options for day 2. I also really like McConkey even though he’s not a speedster. He’s an excellent route runner though.
I agree! It’s a great experience for the development of the coaches.I like this. Also gives younger coaches an expanding network to pull from when they do get promoted to fill out their coaching staff.
I’d hesitate picking Legette in the 1st. I saw a couple posts covering the senior bowl that he didn’t have a great day.Thoughts about picking a WR
Rd.1 Legette (Thomas and the top 5 WR's are gone)
Rd. 2 McConkey, Tez Walker, Franklin
Rd.3 Burton, Brenden Rice, Johnny Wilson
Rd. 4 Anias Smith/ Luke McCaffrey, Jalen Polk
I'm thinking due to size, speed, hands, route running, I'm picking McCaffrey. I also like Smith and Johnny Wilson a lot too. Everybody also knows what I think about Legette.
I would love to see what everybody else is thinking and what direction y'all would go in. Also add guys that I may have missed and what rd do you think they go in?
I agree that his best football is probably ahead of him. He’s still learning the position, so he definitely has promise. I’d draft him in the 5-6 rounds, but we’d have to trade up for him.I read and watched a little bit of the practice, the QB's were very inaccurate. What do you think about McCaffrey, ultra productive at Rice, has only played one yr at WR and can play either slot or X. 6'1.5 202 LBS with great bloodlines/ Fast. Best football is ahead of him and football obviously is important to him.
I've got him in rd 4 for the reasons I listed. I would rather get a guy a rd early than wait and hope he falls to me the next rd. That's what RS used to do and why he missed out on guys like Lockett/Jimmy G etc...I agree that his best football is probably ahead of him.
